Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought worldwide consequences, not only in physical health, but also in mental health. For this reason, it was decided to carry out the present research work, to identify the psychological aspects and perception of life during the quarantine by COVID-19, in Peru. For this, 1830 Peruvians or foreigners residing in Peru were evaluated, of which 77.9% were men and 22.1% were women, aged between 18 and 78 years. A 52-item survey was applied using the Google Forms format, complying with the corresponding ethical requirements. The present work had a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, basic type, descriptive level and crosssectional. It was found that more than 60% of those evaluated reported having had episodes of anxiety during their quarantine, and more than 40% reported having had depressive symptoms. On the other hand, most of those surveyedindicate having assumed quarantine at home, with their family; there was a reduction in the work environment, as well as in that of academic participation; approximately 30% of those evaluated had some risk condition; left home primarily to buy food; finally, in terms of politics, more than 90% of those surveyed say they agree with the decision taken regarding quarantine, as well as indicating having received virtual psychological assistance in this period; but most consider that the government does not pay enough attention to mental health in the country.
